Refrigeration upgrade - H33

Has anyone replaced and upgraded the under-counter fridge in their Hunter 33? Mine is still working but I notice it's pulling a lot more amps than it used to and I am afraid I will need to replace it soon. There's some extra space below the original fridge opening but I don't know how far down I can go (or if there's any useable space back there). I was thinking of going with a 2-drawer style unit if I can fit one in so any feedback/advice would be appreciated.

I suggest you provide a pic, dimensions and make/model of your current set up. I replaced a Dometic CR 1065 front loading fridge with a Nova Kool R2600 on our 2012 H33 this summer. It is a direct replacement.

Thanks for the info. Looks very similar to the OEM fridge in our boat. I was hoping to get something a bit bigger as there's lots of space between ours and the floor. I removed the icebox pan from the countertop and we use that space for our recycling bins (we found 2 that fit perfectly in there). I can pull them out to see what's behind our fridge. The original fridge is ok for a few days but it would be great if we could carry more food for longer trips.

Don't know what year your boat is. Mine is a 1993 33.5 and I put the compressor unit under the counter where the trash can lives alongside the sinks. It was a tight fit and had to cut a large hole in the bulkhead next to the oven but by God we got it on!
