Double sided tape or vecro that wont stain gelcoat

Does anyone know of some double sided tape or velcro that wont stain gelcoat?

I have never seen staining with 3M or Velcro brand. Either can leave some residue, but that is cleaned up easily. What I have seen, in cases where it was left in place for a long time, is that the surrounding gel coat becomes aged/yellowed, but the tape itself protects the underlying gel coat. So, it is visible where you had it because that spot looks newer.

I completely accept that the surrounding areas may age differently due to higher UV exposure

Same here - never had it stain. Fading around it is possible over time. What type of tape/velcro have you had issues with, and what was the application?
