Hi,

When I was looking at a boat of interest (inside the boat downstairs) I noticed that there were some small wooden wedges "wedged" up beside the part of the mast that goes through the hull. Is this normal? What are they doing? Picture attached.

Just to clarify General.
RE: Keel Masted Boat.
The correct term is keel stepped mast.

Please don't take offense on being told this stuff.
It is meant to get you on the path, not to make me (us) sound like know-it-alls.

Your stab at it was pretty good.
That interior is unbelievable.
Truly, well cared for.

The only thing I'd add here is from what I can see in that photo is there don't seem to be enough wedges. It may simply be the photo. But the mast should be surrounded by wedges where it goes through the deck.
