Info on Goiot manual windlass, 351 Oceanis

1993 351 Oceanis with manual Goiot windlass. Don’t gave handle (need) and what chain size was factory. My 5/16 HT is too short a link. May be 3/8, but certainly overkill on a 12000 pound vessel. And what 3/8. Can capstan be changed?

The Goïot windlass is calibrated for either size 8 or 10 chain... for USA size 5/16 or 3/8 it is at best an imperfect fit.
I once had a Lofrans with a size 10 « barbotin » and used 3/8 chain. It would jump every foot or two. Got some size 10 chain and all ok.
