Das sind Teakleisten, die aufgeklebt, dann mit Schwarzer Masse ausgegossen und geschliffen wurden. Sieht immer noch aus wie neu.....

Firefly chainplate hole- A view of how our decks are attached to our hulls. The longer screw is the primary attachment, a #10x1.5" screw, under the toerail. The shorter screws are also #10x1.5" (the length varies between 1.25 and 1.5") and attaches the toerail to the hull. There are also horizontal screws holding the toerail in, and they are #10x1".

Firefly newwood- View upon completion of plywood rot repair. Replaced rotted plywood with new oak boards of the same dimensions. Used 5200 to bond to the hull. Had to remove the toerail in order to get at the deck-hull joining screws! Replaced and resealed the toerail with new screws (mostly) and 5200, of course.

firefly chainplaterot, first major project on Firefly. I noticed that one of the 1/4-20 bolts that attach the chainplates to the hull was loose. Upon investigation, I found that all of the plywood in the chainplate area had rotted, turning to wet paper.
