After stripping (much hard work) the wood was more uniform and ready to coat with Teka. That wonderful 2-part solution really brought the muck out of teh grains and presented a beautiful surface and look.

The old bow stem fitting. The original piece from Catalina was made of wood and had a single eye bolt for the trailer eye. The Stem Reinforcement kit had actually been used to secure the anchor rhode. That all was about to change (for the better !!)...
Look at the different colours, affected by yaers of sunlight, lack of upkeep, etc.
The old teak, out of the boat and about to be stripped...
