DSC00627 In essence what we see in this pic is a Gin Pole with a small boat winch attached to it, pivot bridles, and the baby stays. It takes a little time to set this mast raising rig up but we only do this a couple of times a year, as we both rent moorings at the yacht club.

we carpeted the rear berth and added futon matress. In AZ we do not have an issue with mold with 8% - 10% humidity.

Newly furbished galley with teak veneer plywood, white Formica, built in coffee maker, new faucet and completely changed cabinet to the left of companionway stairs. We took out the small and useless drawers and replaced it with rolling double track pull out under-counter tray.

DSC00628 A rear mast crutch is pretty simple to build but you need to attach it to something and this is where a stern rail comes in handy. Myself, I love a full stern rail and I'm fortunate that the O'Day factory was kind enough to install one on my boat when it was being built back in 1986.

Hakuna Matata This 24' Bob Evelyn design (MORC) is very similar to the J24 but is broader on the beam at 10' and has heavier rig. We sailed this boat from 1998 to 2009.

This is the paint scheme I would love to have. I think it looks classy. I know a dark color adds heat. I mailed Fatty Goodlander about his because his boat, Wildcard, is black. He said it added heat but only a little and he wanted his boat to be black. "Leave your dreams," he encouraged.

I made a partition in the cooler using a 1/2" thick cutting board and rubber weather stripping from the hardware store. And we freeze 3 gallon jugs of water to line the bottom of the cooler. These kept beers and food cold throughout a 4 day trip on their first use. And the best thing is - no pool of water at the bottom!
