Coming in to Watmough Bay
Anchored at Outer Bay, off Iceberg Point on Southern tip of Lopez Island. I'm pretty sure this was a 1 in a Million night. This bay faces due west, and is open to the Straight of San Juan de Fuca - so a straight shot out to the pacific. If there were any kind of swells coming in off the ocean, or bad weather, or cloudy skies this sunset wouldn't have been possible. (there is a bail-out anchorage just around the corner, if things got dicey... but doesn't have this view!)
Big, fat seals on the rocks
The winds were so constant I lashed the tiller in place and the boat sailed itself
great sailing down the San Juan Channel, towards Cattle Point
