I decided to put the primer bulb on the outside because i'd rather have it leak outside than in, and its the only reason to have to lean over the back other than lift and lower the motor. I also ran the cables through a thru hull cable fitting form West Marine. I think it costs about 15 bucks. The end can be cinched up with a zip tie.
