Test fit on the damaged right side looks like it will work fine after I remove the bolts I used to re-glue the deck to the hull. I just have to go score a gallon or 2 of resin to finish the process of making the part from this mold. I think I will have to beef it up some before doing so but I wanted to make sure it fit before wasting more time or product on it. The foam idea worked to some extent. I will use them for sanding blocks as they have the right curves. I was having trouble with it curing at the thickeness I was trying to do for strength.

I laid down some aluminum duct sealing tape then gave a coat of wax for insurance that it would not stick. I noticed that if I made a mold of the left side and just rotated it it would work for the damaged right side.

Thankfully there was more of the rail there than I thought.

Mess was harder to peel off the top but it is gone. I will clean this up with a small grinder.

All the bottom mess pulled right off after grinding off the bolt heads they put through the PVC pipe.

Not sure why they left this gaping hole and exposed PVC??? Maybe they were proud of the PVC pipe and wanted to show it off? lol
