Yanmar ysm8 prop rotation

I am getting ready to purchase a new prop for my yanmar ysm8
and would like to know if it takes a right hand or left hand prop.
The one that came with the boat is a right hand and the boat goes reverse when shifted to forward. Trying to figure out if it is the prop causing the problem.Thanks.

Check your transmission. If it is a Kanzaki KBW10, as I have in my 9.2A with a 2QM15, it is probably right hand rotation. Perhaps your linkage is backward somehow.
