If you have a Selden Mast, they have a booklet tuning guide that you might find on line or they might send you one.
Job#1 is knowing the diameter of your shrouds. All rig tensing is based on that size, which determines the breaking strength. The actual tension used is typically a percentage (15-20) of that value.
If you get a Loos (no E) gauge, get a PT series one, they are much eager to use than the old one shown in the pictures.

It explains the hows and whys of rigs and tuning them. The folding rule method of tensioning is genus and it does not care what size the wire, have charts to misread, or instruments that may or may not be in calibration. Good luck.
