The intent here is to report on a trip for those who may want to cruise the same waters. Also to meet up with other SBO people. Our first night was in oak harbor. It took 5 hours of motoring up wind to get there. With a great breeze but right on the nose so we decided not to tack. We need new sails and don't point well. Tonight we should be in the islands weather permitting.

This photo is a new to me idea I saw on a the dock. The utility looks fantastic but big money I suspect. The second is just now resting in the slip.

Ken, I saw one of those in Sn Francisco about four years ago. There was some discussion about it and how it worked (both conceptually and actually) in Latitude 38 magazine.

Are you now heading up our way?

Ken what is your schedule? I'm headed north on the 7th if everything works as planned. Your boat is looking good. That tender strapped on like a back pack gives the bow a nice up sweep.

We will wander around the San Juans from today until about the 14th when we should be in the. Gulf Islands for a few days. Back in the San Juans by the 20th. Home around the 25th or so.

Hope Island looks nice.

When we headed north in 2015 there were four BC fires going around Sechelt. Sun looked really weird as a red orb and ash covered the boat making a mess of things. Washed when we got to Lund.

Hey Ken. Maybe you and your crew can take deep breaths and blow real hard.
They say a butterfly can beat its wings and cause a hurricane.
Maybe you guys can get the smoke to drift away.

I'm huffing and puffing. It only makes me light headed. In Friday Harbor now enjoying the electric fan and the local eating establishments Does Kung Fu Pizza sound wrong to anyone else? My almond and praline ice cream went down well.

We will be in the islands then. We pick up our daughter on the 12th, then head to the Gulf Islands.

Today we are completing a week thru the San Juans. Had a great time, but little to no wind. Path was Everett to Cornet Bay, saw Grey Whale breaching (amazing). Cornet Bay to Sucia Echo Bay, nice hiking and paddle boarding. Provost Harbor on Stewart Island, more hiking and fantastic crabbing. Two nights in Victoria, BC, typical tourist stuff. Plan was to go to Port Townsend, but no slips available. Went on to Port Ludlow. More paddle boarding and sail back to Everett. Again, great trip but no wind.
