A while ago there was a thread on tempering valves and a popular one (KES) was cited as a good choice, but it was hard to hook up because it had straight threads instead of tapered. I found the correct fittings at Hamilton Marine (www.hamiltonmarine.com) in Maine, our local chandlery. They are marine nylon fittings that are made for water pumps and they screw on and seat properly with built in seals.
For Escape, I needed the straight thread to 15mm tube but they have other sizes and they weren't expensive.
