Shrouds too long

I recently bought a hunter 216 and the lower and upper shrouds are about a foot too long to connect to the chain plate properly. The mast had welding work done to it in the past by another owner. It still measures close to the 30' 10". The question to any 216 owner would be the length of the shrouds. Mine could be from another boat

Best we see a photo of that weld. Could be a potential safety issue.

Thanks to you both for replying...the weld looks very professional and the track is good also. When I get home I'm going to measure the shrouds. I can send pictures at a later date. My camera on my phone is broke.

You can carefully cut those too-long shrouds to length and use mechanical terminations .. like Sta-Lok or Norseman
