Should I buy an ‘89 Catalina 36 TR

I've been shopping for a while and finally found a boat that I think is buyable.

Last boat was a Hunter 35.5 Legend. It was a lot of fun. The Catalina has better gear for sure. Has anyone sailed their 36 TR with a 35.5 Legend? How’d it go? I’m looking for the better captain wins.

What should I look out for? Any major issues? The boat has been very well maintained. Nice lines, upgraded blocks. New instruments. Newer dodger and Bimini.

The deck and cockpit teak needs lots of love. I don’t think this is a deal breaker. It’s not falling apart. Varnish is chipped to non-existent.

I enjoy my Catalina 36. I don’t race. Only common issue and fairly rare is the support wood under the mast step can rot out. Not a hard fix but requires pulling the stick. Check out Catalina36.org
