Saw this on the 445 or 425 at the Annapolis show and really like it. Anyone tried this on their 310?

There was a 310 a couple years back that put a boom like the new Island Packets on the bow. The major issue with self tackers is that the headsail needs to be around a 100 or 105. Any larger and it doesn't work. Really a 95 is best. We have a friend with a Hanse 42 that's fractional rig with a 95 headsail on a selftacker. It's sweet. He can sail through a crowded anchorage and drop anchor under sail like it's nothing.

Self-tacklers are best on rigs designed from the ground up to be main driven. This usually means fractional. On boats originally designed to be genoa driven, performance will generally suck performance-wise with this much smaller jib on them.

In ripwillia message above whatever he is talking about doesn't show up for some I presume. All there is in the messages is "Saw this on the 445 or 425 at the Annapolis show and really like it. Anyone tried this on their 310?"
Is there suppose to be a picture?
Cheers
