Rudder removal

I have a 1980 Catalina 30.
I have to remove the rudder to repair the rudder shaft using the west epoxy system.
The keel is about 6-8 inches off the ground, does any one know if the boat is high enough off the ground to drop the rudder without digging a hole?
Unfortunately it's sitting on cement so I would have to raise the boat. Any help would be appreciated. Brian

Ok, I don't know, but will reply to help get your question some traffic.

However, from looking at my rudder tube on my 309, 6 to 8 inches isn't nearly enough room...

I agree. You will need the length of the rudder shaft that is in the boat (approx.) I would think.
