Hey,

I am looking into installing a linear drive on my 1987 Hunter31. I am aware of the complexity of the task and I am getting quotes as well as considering a DIY job.

To help guide me (and them), I would love to see what a successful linear drive install on one of these boats look like. Here are a few pictures of what the quarterberth looks *before* installing the drive. If some of you have one installed and could share pictures that would be great. I have searched past discussions but never saw a picture of the install on the 31.
Any other suggestions welcomed!

cheers,
thomas

Chip. They have a greater appetite for electrical power. Your unit is hidden from view so you need to inspect it on a regular basis. (You need to do that for the wheel systems as well but they are in our face and when they whine we tend to react more quickly.) They are more expensive to buy (about plus 75% or more). They are a bit more complex to install.
