Hello,
Does anyone know the thickness and exact material that is used for the large side windows on the Hunter 40.5? I am trying to source a plastic house to make these and I need this info before I pull them off the boat. Also, it would be great if anyone knows of a shop that will make this in the Orange County/Los Angeles area.

Thanks
Frank

Thanks Rick. No hurry, just gathering info for now. Frank
The estimate I have in my files was for 3/8 plexiglass. Incidentally, I had everything replaced except for the aft ports by the companionway and the opening ports in the cockpit since they are covered by the dodger and bimini 90% of the time.
Marco Drovandi of of MDI is the one who did the work. Did a very professional job. 949 290 1069.

Here's what I did

I got material the same thickness as the side ports.
One at a time, I pulled them out.
I brought a portable router table to my dock with a pattern bit, and made each window on site right next to the boat.
It saved time being able to continuously test fit, etc.
Use Dow Corning 795 to seal it all in!!

If anyone ever needs to know the trick on how to remove the windshields without cracking them, look up my post !!
