Anyone replaced the gasket on the ballast tank valve on their Hunter 26?
I went to pull mine out the other day and it won't come out.. It drops down and rests on
the bunk board that the center board rest on and there is still too much threaded rod sticking
up into the hull to pull it out... Surely someone has done this while the boat is on the trailer before?
any ideas ????

Just cut a slit to the middle. When it compresses it fills any void there might be.
:plus:

I just replaced mine this season. I glued the new one in place using “goop” and just closed the valve while it dried. My new gasket was cut from a mouse pad. I got the idea here at SBO. Sorry I can’t remember who’s idea it was.

That's what I did, and glued on a (slit) 1/4" neoprene disk [Edit] with contact cement. Works fine, although the tank seemed slower to fill and empty. I invite fat guys on board to drink beer while I go down and open the valve. I think it helps.
