H40 pre-1990, getting down bellow

To owners of H40:
I am shopping for a sailboat. I have never been aboard a Hunter 40 of that era, and looking at pictures makes me wonder how you get inside? Not much headroom under the dodger. Have to crawl? On your knees? No dodger?
Dont get me wrong, I am not making fun here.

One could say you have to crawl through a dorade box to gain cabin entry, but that would be silly. Never been on an H40 before so no insight here, but access to a 40.5, which I have been on, is quite convenient through the companionway hatch even with a dodger.

Yes I prefer the 40.5, it look very nice, just a bit more money and a tall mast at 64 feet.
