It used to depend. When your car breaks down in Tuba City, Az and you are waiting for the shop on the Navajo Reservation to fix it, try asking when it will be done. "Uptown time or Downtown time?" There was a split in where DST was observed right through town. They did fix the car though.

Well that is wrong. Throws off the natural clock of 1 hour/15°+/- of longitude. At least in Florida. They should have made it Standard Time and not Daylight Saving Time. An hour of sunlight in the morning or in the evening, it is all the same thing. It equals out in the long run.

It's almost irrelevant for those of us who live on the western side of the eastern (or any other) time zone. And for those of us who, like me, don't wake up until after 8a.m., it means the day is effectively longer.

Perspective is everything.

Interestingly (or maybe not interestingly), 13 states have multiple time zones. And the railroads don't usually have crashes.

We could change and follow China’s method. China spans 5 zones but only has one Beijing Standard. Which means us west coasters could have lots of sun later in the day.

Arizona stays on Standard time year round.

If the panhandle changes to the same time as the rest of the state we will be 1 hour off sometimes and 2 others

Just heard today that Alabama is looking to change also. That means half of the year when headed west into Mississippi you go two hours back.
