I lived in that area. The Terrace Apartments, 3 High Rise buildings just south of the Masonic Memorial, south side of the freeway. They were being finished in 1971. Moved in and enjoyed the experience for a couple of years. Safer than my place in Downtown DC.

jssailem: They developed that whole area several years ago, sounds like the area has really changed since you were here. DC's not as bad as it was, but I wouldn't live in the city. (couldn't afford to at this point) Looks like the apartments are now condos - Carlyle Towers.

One of my regulars was a DC Lobbiest. Owned a sweet 60 ft yacht he moored near the Southwest Waterfront.

He would have been a neighbor to another swamp critter - Randy "Duke" Cunningham!

Similar to the boat I sipped some pretty nice scotch. He enjoyed Wild Turkey. As I remember he enjoyed referring to himself as the "Wild Turkey Man"!
