Am I in trouble?

hey guys and gals.
When I was starting to de-winterize my boat I noticed some rot on the bottom of my starboard main bulkhead. (Across from the head). Looks like the chainplate has leaked through the deck and the water has run down the bulkhead and sat in the seat corner area and rotted the bottom 2-3” of the bulkhead.
The bolts seem to not be loose and poking around on the bulkhead it seems to be solid. Also, the chainplate isn’t loose at all.
Did I catch this in time or??
Thanks for your thoughts.
Scott

That depends on what you mean by 'too late'. You are too late to save that wood. But if that hasn't been there for more than the Winter, you probably are not too late to save more important stuff. Remove the rotten wood and scrub and spray with bleach to kill the mold and dry rot. You don't want it advancing. Put a fan on it to let it dry out. Then reassess and post pictures of what you find behind it. Is it just glass the chainplate bolts go through?
It is way to early and not enough information to say more. You will need to rebed your chainplates.
