I would like to replace or modify a poor design on my 1996, 376. As you can see in the photos. The deck sheaves under the smoked plexiglass window at the base of the mast are badly warn with flat spots as well have there are gaps that allow the lines to settle in between them. I have searched this site as well as the web and can not find any information on replacements for these types of guides.
Has anyone replaced these or come up with a suitable modification? I did see the one post from someone that ran their halyards over top of the deck cover. I would rather try and stay with the current design as I have the in-mast furling system so I don't have to drop the sails very often but I do need to use the vang, outhaul/inhaul, and main sheet. I was thinking of trying to machine similar guides out of brass stock, but getting them on the existing rod might pose an issue without removing the plexiglass window.
