Beneteau 311 Plumbing Issues

I purchased a 2002 311 swing keel this year and have been sailing it for a few weeks now. We love the boat but there are a couple of annoying problems in the plumbing arena. I am wondering if anyone has seen similar issues. First, the galley sink faucet leaks like a sieve. We tightened things up and it still leaks slightly and I have to leave the freshwater pump off in order to keep it from leaking. We've decided we have to replace the faucet to truly solve the issue. Has anyone else had a similar issue and can anyne recommend a replacement faucet model. Second, the refrigerator won't drain. We ave the through hull open but the fridge won't drain. I ran a snake down as far as I could go and found no blockage. Anyone seen this issue? Thanks in advance for any help.

Frig Drain

Jim, If your 311 works like my 310 the drain for the frig works off the foot pump that also supplies sea water to the sink. Set the handle (mines next to the through hull for the sink drain) below the sink one way you get sea water, set it the other and it drains the sink. Randy

Frig Drain

The last line in my previous post should read drains the frig, not drains the sink. Sorry. Randy

Refrigerator Drain

Jim, Since your 311 is a Group Finot design it likely to be similarly plumbed to our OC321. There is manifold of valves just aft of the bilge. Removing the sole you will see the manifold. This manifold diverts the bilge pump suction from the bilge to either the shower drain or the refrig drain. You simply close the approporiate valves and then run the bilge pump to drain the refrig. Don't forget to reset the valves when you are through! Jon

Fridge Dran

Jim, the fridge drain works off the manifold under the sink in the head. You have to turn the fridge drain "on" and the bilge and shower drains "off" in order for it to work. One one of the three can be on at once. Then flip the switch on the sink cabinet in the head. You should hear the pump engage and the fridge water being sucked out. Richard

leaking

Not sure where you faucet is leaking, but on our 321, we had a drip for a day or two even with the pump off and it turns out that the water tank got presurized when I put some clorox in there to get rid of the algae. I flushed the tank a couple of times and loosened the access hole in the water tank in the aft berth and it was fine. Not sure if you did some work on the water tank...

You also might want to clean the water filter next to the water heater. If it is filled with junk, it might keep your line pressurized and therefore your faucet will drip.
