When this Laser 28 arrived in the 80s it was a real game changer, the sport boat of its time. A 28 foot boat out sailing 35 footers so the name "Blew Bye U" was very appropriate. The boat is still owned by the same family.

Most are fun, but do they make sense over the radio? Will they confuse the marina or the USCG? Realistically, in the past this would disqualify almost all of them. Now with cell phones, a little less. But I still believe it is an important test.

Can you repeat it three times and be understood?

A local joke (or practice) amoung watermen is to name the boat after their daughter rather than their wife. Your daughter will always be your daughter .... Saves paint.

Seahorse: At the time we purchased and repaired her we were dividing our time between caring for horses at the farm and sailing.

Sunshine: I am a fan of John Denver's music. If you know the words ...... the name is appropriate for the Wooden Boat School 13 foot Beach Pea I am in the process of repairing. The boat is capable of being rowed or sailed and I think she will "look so lovely on the water" and she already "makes me smile".
