Yes it is. Here's the other end:is that an inline blower to evacuate the engine room?
Engine compartment has to be kept clean, it's where I keep my lunch. Bloody crew would have it eaten in a heartbeat if it was left outvery clean engine and seal basins, nice job!
So you must have the manifold cook book, my copy has a whole section on road kill........Engine compartment has to be kept clean, it's where I keep my lunch. Bloody crew would have it eaten in a heartbeat if it was left out!
Nice to heat the boat too, on chilly night cruising up there!Yes it is. Here's the other end:
I think Don had it early.Wrong or collapsed rear engine mounts?
That is an awesome idea, we have this vent fan already on the boat but it vents outside, never though of adding a duct section with a splitter, to vent in or out, ah get the pen out add another item to the list.Nice to heat the boat too, on chilly night cruising up there!
Down here, put the discharge heat outside the boat.
Jim...
Pure speculation but maybe the old mounting bolt holes were rotted out. Instead of fixing it however may have been properly they just moved the mounts down the stringers a few inches and cut the prop shaft to fit. A big stretch I know but stranger things have happened (maybe)? But like all hypotheses .......................... WHY THE ^%$&*#@! HELL DO IT? ? ? ?
Thank you for your reply. Yes that part of my boat is very weird. There is no wire and the other bolt is missing..Hello skipperclaud,
Is there an Allen set screw in the threaded hole in the connection to the prop shaft? (pic #2) There should be some type of fastener, I think. One is visible in the first picture. Also, a stainless steel wire should go through a hole drilled in the square top of that fastener to prevent it from backing out. (Been there, had that happen!) There appears to be a thin wire through one of the bolts in the flange (correct name?) to the transmission itself. Not clear how or to what it is connected.
All of that can be checked and fastened correctly when the other work is done and the engine aligned with the shaft and hull tube.
Nothing was told by the surveyor. To Be honest I don’t even know he have realized it.Pure speculation but maybe the old mounting bolt holes were rotted out. My questions for the original poster are, does it seem to work? Is there any odd vibration? Did he have a prepurchase survey and if so what did it say, if anything, about it.
Really! Oh my Gosh!!!!That's a great hypothesis.
Agree in all you said! amazing. Look these pictures...But like all hypotheses .......................... WHY THE ^%$&*#@! HELL DO IT? ? ? ?
Oh yumSo you must have the manifold cook book, my copy has a whole section on road kill........
Maybe it was done at LOW TIDE ?... . Why they installed it so low...
You sort of had to be there to get the full picture.Nice to heat the boat too, on chilly night cruising up there!

Ralph Johnstone I will do it tomorrow for sure!!!!@skipperclaud , could you please inspect the two engine mounting stringers for any unused holes and take photos if possible. Also if you can see how close the rubber cushion mounts:

are sitting to the ends of the two stringers would also be helpful.
I'm afraid I've become obsessed with this violation of the senses and won't be able to sleep until it's been put to rest.
