I can't help it...... I have to say something.

So, I'm watching the tube the other night and one of the thousands of commercials for Viagra comes on the air. The next 60 seconds is spent telling me how wonderful my life will be...how it's time to take action...be all I can be...blah, blah, blah. Great. I'm sure it's a fantastic product.

I sure a time will come somewhere down the road when...... 'nuf said.

My problem is this: has anyone noticed that the guy on the sailboat is doing like 4 or 5 knots with what I swear to God is a back-winded head sail?

I wonder how fast he could sail that thing if he took 2? 7 knots, no sails required? Could we waterski behind him?

Just one of those things that would bug the hell out of me if I didn't say something. And to think some ad agency somewhere actually got paid a mountain of cash to produce that commercial.

Thanks for letting me vent.

look closely at the ad video-hint-look at the bow-and you'll see why he's moving so fast. The towline is clearly visible

You're kidding! I have been so focused on the head sail to ensure I wasn't just seeing things, I never even thought to look to see if he was being towed!

That only makes the whole thing that much more rediculous!

I've seen that commercial too. I wish "they" (the Viagra makers) would have paid me to use my boat in the commercial.

What bothers me about their email ads is that the computer asks me whether I am sure I want to permanently delete the message that has been put in my spam folder!:cussing:

When my mainsheet block came free of the traveler I didn't need viagra, or a life jacket strap, to fix it. Nor did I need a tow with a backwinded jib. :D

Stop being a sore loser guys! You want to go fast sailing even with back winded sail? Then take a Viagra. Heck take 2 for good measures. And yes, you may even pull a ski or two ...with 3 Viagras. YaHoooo!!

Do I need to point out the obvious. He needs the tow so he can get busy with whoever is down in the cabin.

No more loose and baggy sails, get 'Sail Viagra'. Tighten up that sail.

And new next year, 'Deck Viagra'. No more soft and flimsy decks. (For large decks only, people prefer a large deck).

Yep, hard to see but there is a tow line. And, look at the headsail.
The water is glassy smooth and the boat is moving close to hull speed.
