The tiller head on my '93 Capri 26 is cracked just near the tension clamp bolt. There is still a through-bolt so I don't think it's in imminent danger of falling off, but I think there is a tiny bit of play since it's not clamped tightly. I was thinking of trying to have it welded. I read that it was cast bronze. However, it's polished chrome in appearance. Can that still be bronze? (a new one from CatalinaDirect is $850)
