Alone, it will run the 5000 but might need a soft start, depending on the AC unit. Do not even think of using the “eco” setting with the AC, it will bog down the unit when the AC compressor starts. Adding your other requirements at the same time makes it even more dicey. Some variables- how many amps do your fridge freezer and battery charger draw? (The fans are a non issue).
Start up surges are pretty variable, especially shortcycle ones when it is hot. The only way to find out is to try. In any case the softstart is highly recommended regardless or the compressor will suffer from the voltage drop during startup as the genny struggles to catch up to the load.
Why Yamaha? The Honda 2000 has a little bit more power and is a tried and proven portable generator with ample parts and service sources.
You are right. The Yamaha has a fuel gauge and fuel shutoff, is lighter weight and has cool retro 50's appliance styling. There are pros and cons. Both brands allow two generators to be tethered to double the power output. Both have extensive service networks.
The Honda 2000 is discontinued, in favor of the 2200. It has a fuel switch to empty the carb, I think.
I picked one of these up from Costco $450, you could get 2 for the price of that Yamaha and I think this has a lot of the features you are after.
Here are the specs. The motor got my attention and the weight is listed as 52 lbs, that seems right to me. It also comes with the cable for setting up 2, gas guage and seems pretty quiet. Just an option, if you have a Costco near by might be worth consideration.
