Widgeon Rigging

I just bought my widgeon a month ago. I'm new to sailing and I'm ready to put it on the water. The problem is I'm not sure of the rigging. I bought the manuals from D&R. There were 3 different manuals enclosed. Two were for the later models and had pictures and diagrams. The third was for the older widgeon (the kind I own) and didn't have much information or pictures to guide me through the process. It seems the newer widgeons have a different set up than the earlier ones. Mine has four blocks aft of the centerboard. Two on the left. Two on the right. I figured everything else out, but this has me puzzled. Can anyone help me? Thanks! Patti Ford

fellow Newburyporter seeks help

hi Patti, we also just got a Widgeon about a month ago - sounds just like yours, an older model. It has no centerboard attachment hardware. We have been trying to figure out what the missing part might look like. Is there any way we could come over and look at yours? We also live in Newburyport, right by the Custom House. Any help would be much appreciated; maybe we could put our heads together and figure out your rigging question. Thanks!

Hi Karen,I'd love to get together and try to figure this out. I don't live in Newburyport though, I just want to sail my boat there in the bay. My boat is in Methuen which is about 20 minutes to a half hour from where you are. If you'd like to take a look at my boat and check out the centerboard, you're more than welcome. I have an older Widgeon as well, and can't figure out what to do with the swivel pulleys on the aft quarters of the boat.I can help with the centerboard apparatus, however. There is a quadrant lever with a pawl on the bottom. If you were not aware of it, you would never find it..
