Where to sail when considering relocation

Suggestion on where to relocate and contine sailing?

Hello fellow sailors,

Due to a new job opportunity, I am considering relocating from central Iowa (Lake Red Rock) with my Hunter 23.5.

The two location options to choose from are... Oklahoma City, OK or Salt Lake City, UT. (I know little about either city, other than Utah skiing).

So in essence, this is a question/survey for anyone interested in offering feedback about either location you would suggest is best for a day or weekend sailor with a passion for the outdoors.

Along with your response, please offer any input on locations/lakes, sailing quality and conditions, as well as, yacht clubs in these two areas.

I've been to both.

People seek out and enjoy the lakes in the Oklahoma City area.

People avoid the one big lake in the SLC area. It stinks and the chemical makeup is bad for swimming and hard on boats. The water levels have been at historically low levels for several years now. I saw very few marinas and even fewer sailboats.

If sailing is the only thing you are considering, then Oklahoma City is a clear winner.
