As a proud new owner I'm trying to fix a few (?) things onboard. Previous owner had the ice box draining into a gallon jug. It works but not very nautically proper. Can't seem to find a way from under the ice box to the main bilge. What had hunter originally intend or what has anyone done?

Ice Box Drain
My previous boat had a manual pump located beside the fresh water one over the galley sink. Just a few pumps discharges the ice box water (or spilled milk!) down the drain away from the bilge. Neat and leaves your bilge alone. I intend to add this feature to my H27. Good luck.

Bilge: No-No
Whatever you do, make sure you can get the drainage (gray) water out of the boat when you want to. Those boats with shower sumps have a built-in solution.

Gray water does not include.bilge water. Gray water is limited to galley, bath and shower water. Any water in the bilge that started out as gray water ceases to be once it lands in the bilge. Then it becomes bilge water. And btw, no matter how any boat builder may set up an icebox drain--or shower drain, heat/ac consdensate drain, or anyother onboard drain-IMHO -the last place you want anything to drain is into the bilge. Aa bilge is something to be kept as dry as possible...it's not a sump.

I ran the outlet hose to a hand pump mounted next to the galley sink, which solved the problem.
