Doug, cell phone charger was the first thing that came to mind. I've also used my small inverter to charge the BFL (big frikkin' light). Why would you do that with a cell phone charger? That's already a transformer that converts 120v to 12 volts.
What is this? There is power to it evaluate it lights up but I don't what it's for.

What that is is a European style AC plug . it is attached to your shore power. Any 2 prong AC appliance or light will plug into it. If you need to plug in a standard 3 prong plug you have to use a cheater that eliminates the ground. I have these same units on my French built Beneteau 375. If you turn of the switch/breaker it turns off the outletWhat is this? Exactly. A very inefficient way to charge cell phones and laptops. You can buy an adapter at Radio Shack or Wal-Mart that plugs into the 12v receptacle and has two USB ports on the back. They run about $10.Why would you do that with a cell phone charger? That's already a transformer that converts 120v to 12 volts.
Mine works when shore power is onI changed mine out to GFI's. As per above, it is your 110V outlet from your AC panel. They have a built in 10amp breaker.
