Westerbeke 12B

Journeyman has a Westerbeke 12B which has become very hard to start. When it finally starts the engine develops good power, warms up well and makes no smoke, which I think means the injectors are ok. The fuel filters are clean. I measured voltage at the glow plugs and it seems good. I can't figure it out. Any ideas?

I recently installed a Raymarine tiller autopilot and would be happy to offer my experience.[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I had the same problem on my BMW D12. Turns out the injector needed
replacing. With that small of an engine, you may or may not see smoke.
I found out the hard way that a bad injector can lead to the head
overheating, which will eventually crack!
Be sure to check your tappet clearance, also.
