water/salt crystals in the

We just bought a 311/2000 and we have a small amount of water and salt crystals in the bow under the wood, this must be a storage area. We cleaned out the water and salt and it came back. It isn't much water, but it is moisture and that is not good. Dose anyone know of this type of problem, where it comes from and how to fix it? We were thinking it might be coming from the anchor locker. Jane & Bob

When the water came back, was that after you'd been out sailing? I assume that's how salt water would get in the anchor locker. Worth checking there for leaks. The locker should be draining out, though, but maybe some is splashing in through a hole. We had a small screw hole in the bulkhead wall of our 331 and that was enough to let water get into our windlass area in the V berth.
