Putting a stop on your trailer extension makes it easy to get back in place for towing. Just back up SLOWLY till it hits the stop, then put your pins in.

Now ... nothing like a RUSTED out front support. Had to butcher up the post welded to the trailer frame to get it out.

I think what they should do is put the smaller square tube on the trailer frame and then the larger tube to the moveable post. That way water would not run down into the tube and rust up solid.

I have not figured out the next step.

Woah Hersh, how about scary!

Well, if it's weldable, it is likely your least expensive option... but if parts are that bad, I'd be looking at the springs as well...

Good news is used trailers are inexpensive, finding one for the Capri 22 shouldn't be terrible... I suspect you'll be able to get a good welder to fix what you have though.

With the exception of the front post, the trailer is in good shape. ( Surface rust)

I am thinking about contacting Trail-Right to see how much a new assembly would cost.
Then again. I only tow my boat 10 miles in the spring top my yacht club, and 10 miles back in the fall.
Do I really need it?

The metal piece I had welded on the tongue just makes aligning up real easy.
