Bad Teak
Teak, if it has not been cared for, looks worse than it really is. Invest$20 bucks and buy a teak cleaning/conditioning kit. Use the Teak cleaner, then the brightner and youwill probably be surprised. Unless theteak is split and broken, the cleaning/brightening will bring it back to life. Youcan sand it to smooth it outand then comes the tough part. What to finish/seal it with. Cetol in the Florida sun seems to work great and is highly recommended. Do not, I repeat, do not replace the teak with any other WOOD. Replace it with plastic if you have to.Good luck and happy boat maintenance.
