Does anyone have experience mounting a tiller pilot like the autohelm st1000 on a Hunter 23? Mine is an 86, and according to the manual I can't find a way to mount it. The tiller handle comes over the transom, so it is too high to use a pedistal mount from the seat. The seat backs are too low to use a cantilever mount and keep the unit level. ARRRRGHHHH! Surely I am not the first to try and use this thing on an old Hunter. Any help would be appreciated.
