Temperatures

What should the temperatures be in the icebox & the freezer? Currently I run at about 50 degrees for the icebox & 25 degrees for the freezer. The system is a ColdMachine on a 1997 Catalina 36 MK II. The system is set at a level 4 and runs about 60 to 70% of the time, but if I set it to the max it will not get much colder but will run all of the time.Thanks

temperature setting

The system is capable of lower temperatures than that. Check the seals and make sure the drain is plugged. Is this a dual box system with a spillover set up?

Freezer

Hi Bill... No the freezer I am talking about is the small unit with a door that comes with the ColdMachine. The most I have gotten the icebox down to is 45 degrees with running on Max all of the time. I understand that the best range for food between 35 & 45 degreesThanks Rich

Keep it full

I have just completed installation of a ColdMachine (See my posting elsewhere in this forum), and with the thermostate set between 5 and 6, my box is 40 degees on the upper level, and about 35-37 degrees on the lower level. The freezer compartment is well below 32, probably in the range of 25. Keep in mind that a box that is kept full and cold will retain temp longer than one that just has a few items in it. I keep a substantial supply of beer in mine for that purpose.
