Anyone here used Soy Strip?

I very much like to get the VC 17 M off my boat and convert to ablative bottom paint while I'm in a good shed and facility for such a job. However, soda blasting is 2 grand even after I do all the tenting myself. I've got more time than money so I'm looking for alternatives.

I have used it(not on a bottom though) and it works pretty well given a fairly warm temp. You will still be scraping but it will go quicker. Expect to do some sanding before the final prep. Also, Soystrip is fairly expensive. It works best if you lay it down thick in a single stroke(no brushing back and forth). Cover it with some "press and seal" food wrap to keep it from drying out.

Your tent is particularly well suited already to walnut shell blast the bottom. This is a quick and easy way to strip multiple layers of paint from the hull. Total cost for my 35 was about $500. Handyman rental on riverside rents a tow behind commercial blaster and Spectrum supply on St. John sells the Walnut shell media. 2 people working together can do a 35ft. boat in 4 hours.
