Having installed 2 Solbian solar panels SL90Q on my bimini now the question arises where to connect the +&- cables from my Victron BlueSolar Charge controller MPPT 70/15 to my batteries, when there is also a Victron BMV-600S (battery monitor) installed:

direct to the battery poles or to the shunt of this BMV....?

Thanks, Peter

Negative from MPPT To "load" side of shunt...
I think this is a simple type. The negative from the charger goes to the black bus (negative) and the positive goes to the red (positive) side of the load side of the shunt. The MPPT looks like a power source to the system and is connected exactly in parallel with the battery.

The Victron shunt is in the negative not positive. Every negative wire on the boat must be on the load side of the shunt. The ONLY thing on the battery side on the shunt is the house battery negative terminal....

So then is the image attached incorrect as far as battery 2 is concerned? The negative side of that (ghost) battery is on the load side of the shunt. Should it not also be on the battery side of the shunt as battery 1?

The drawing is correct. The Victron only measures current on one bank, the house bank, thus every other negative on the boat, including the start battery neg, must be on the load side of the shunt.
