When lowering the mast I found "one" strand of cable snapped on the port side main shroud. Can i put some kind of clamp over it or is this the beginnig of a bigger problem and need the entire length replaced?

I'd go for a new one

If a shroud breaks, you are likely to snap the mast. In addition to the risk of injury to you and your crew, a broken mast is a very expensive consequence for patching a relatively inexpensive part. Whether you have Rudy at D&R make you one or do it yourself with Sta-Lok or Norseman fittings, I'll bet a replacement shroud won't cost more than $100. Cheap insurance.
