Seeking Inspiration

I'd love to see some interior pictures of your beloved Cat 22.
What does your Keel winch area look like?
Where are you electrical controls, switches, gizmos, and dodads?
Do you have a slideout galley?

won't help you with aesthetics -- but perhaps some mechanical inspiration: new winch after completely removing the step and rotted support, along with a new cockpit floor that included 2" scuppers and a 2" drain assembly. Still need to get my 2" proper throughhull in this spring to finish that one off.

Indeed, perhaps more important than aesthetics :) I have to at a minimum replace my drain lines for the scuppers. Eventually they will be thruhulls and I'm sure my keel winch needs replacing, I'm not sure how well it works.

Slideout galley deployed for use
How do you like that stove? I pulled out possibly the original stove. The fuel tank was filled with rust, no mounts over the burners and there is a mysterious hole on the front between the 2 burner controls.

Its a dream stove replaced my old alcohol stove, only 20 bucks at walmart, fuel cans are 3 for 5 bucks and it instant lights and boils water in less than 3 minutes.

Just of a 'few' of the upgrades since we bought our '80 C22 in 2011, including...
1. Removed the sliding galley and replaced with a custom storage unit to house hatch boards, grill and cockpit table.
2. Upgraded the cockpit and cabin flooring now coated with non-slip Seadek. Easy install and has held up for 3 seasons so far.
3. Out with the Formica table and in with a new real teak-veneered version, with teak drawer underneath.
4. Cockpit table capable of holding the Coleman grill.
5. A couple of major tasks about 5yrs ago was a complete repaint of the hull (from a dull 'beige' to a glossy navy) and deck, as well as new seat cushions throughout (from that 'delightful' 70's plaid brown to Sunbrella blue),

The navy is really sharp.
Thanks. Here's the before and after shots. Hard work on the hull but worth the effort. Used an Interlux basecoat mixed with a little of the Interlux blue topcoat to give a nice base. Deck was also Interlux Brightsides with grey Interdeck on the in-fill sections. Their website was very helpful, as was the advice on this forum.

Look for 1986 or newer if you just want to sail. If you think of maybe racing someday get the older model, they are lighter and faster. If having to make a choice on boats always pick the one that has the most stuff! ! !
