I had an aggressive regatta between me and the rock-- I battled hard-- clawed back some time at the first rounding, but the rock was strong. We traded leads on the upwind legs, yet despite my valiant efforts the fixed object on the shore bettered me once again.

Welcome to the Columbia river 2-3 kts of wind with 4 kts of current :) never saw a positive SOG-- but a beautiful day, good spot for a boom tent nap, and got a chance to put the new rig ( and the outboard) to a wee bit of test.

Very happy to have had my flag halyard finally-- just in time for the 4th.

That halyard is for courtesy flags etc. Yacht ensign should be on stern or backstay. Just a suggestion.

Yes indeed-- was anxious to try out the halyard , but need to move to a backstay solution for the ensign.... next trip :)
