I have purchased a storm damaged Tartan 34-2. The previous owner had a new rudder fabricated from solid marine ply (and epoxy). It was supposedly built by a shop that makes rudders. It seems quite heavy (maybe 60 pounds) and I am wondering if that is too heavy to be practical. It is built like a brick .... house and I should never have to worry about it rotting or falling apart!! Thanks Garth
