rigging an assym on an O25.

I ran my assym with a block shackled to a very small bale at the mast head. It is a stainless bracket with two small machine screws bolting it to the mast head assy. Last year the bale gave out and the sail went into the water. Question? What about flying it from a jib halyard with a swivel block atttched to it? I am worried the halyard could jump the sheave?

I have not yet mounted a mast crane and fly the assym using a jib halyard. So far there has not been an issue at the mast head. I have a furler and use an ATN tacker. Probably not the best system.
