Hey all, I have a Sirius 21. The main sheet cleat is attached to a circular block of wood, which is mounted on to the transom. The block of wood rotted out and the cleat in not secure anymore. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it? There does not seem to be any way to access the nuts for the 4 bolts on the interior. We are thinking about re-mounting it on the starboard side where there is access to the interior through the aft lazzarette. Any Sirius owners have thoughts? Thanks, Chris
Looks like a lot of stuff screed/bolted to that area.. they may be screwed into an embedded plate in the top of the transom.. if not, can lay in there and scooch aft to get to it, a deck access plate in that transom bulkhead would do ya.. a couple of inches below the top corner and on centerline for aesthetics would allow you to open the plate and reach in there https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/at...f8Zt3CDAS6Pg--E-VEH9z6gQPzVkUtBUaAuVgEALw_wcB
My Sirius 21 doesn't have that rotten wood between the cleat and the transom. That looks like someone's patch to get around fixing it right. Try to crawl into the aft port berth. You should be able to twist around to be able to see up to the transom. It might still be not enough access to fix anything. Good luck.
